Dancing Wins Slots - Blast from a Funky Past
Not many people remember disco, even those of us that were around for it. Those days were shrouded in hairspray, alcohol, and glittering lights. For everyone else, it's something to be seen in old movies, assuming people still watch those. If you would like to have a look back in time to see what kinds of things were popular, want a decent game to play, and appreciate nostalgia, this is a title that is matched by few others. For music fans in general, it is definitely a must play!
Major Mechanics
This game lets you win up to 1000 times your bet, with a maximum bet of around $250. You can bet this across 50 different lines, and can enjoy the usual bonuses such as free spins, multipliers, scatter symbols, and wilds. You can match so many things it's hard to count, or even describe them. Some of them are musicians, looking like rock stars from that time. Others look like dancers, or attractive disco people. On top of that, you have electric guitars, microphones, vinyl players, retro sunglasses, and boom boxes. We're sure everybody knows what a boom box is now, go back them, they were a big deal. You also have the disco ball floating overhead, which of course is the symbol you want to match the most.
As far as the graphic style, that is clearly the main draw of the game. There aren't many jackpots to be hand, which makes it so that if you play longer, you are mostly hoping for free spins and big multipliers. On top of that, they also have a free to play mode, called fun play. This lets you enjoy the graphics and nostalgia without having to drain your bank account. Most people would prefer to start off in this mode, and graduate up to something loftier once they have courage. If you enjoy different forms of retro, and everything that happened around the 80s, it's fun enough just to look at it all spin by and remember it. A lot of people still enjoy that sort of music, making it a fun fit for them as well.
Criticisms
If we had one major gripe about this game, it would be that there are no jackpots. The different bonus features help to make up for it, however. When you match the different disco balls, you get scatters. You can also unlock a mode where everything spins independently, giving you a chance to get another free spin on a particular reel if it didn't match. This is good because it gives you a higher percentage chance of actually matching something. At least based on our calculations. The game has the industry standard of around 96% return to player, audited so you know it's real, and of course it's by RTG, so that you can trust it. All in all, this is one of the better retro games out there, and even has a multiplier gauge that builds up on the left side. If you want something different, and old, this game is both!
